Look after your liver this Christmas

With the social Chrismas season looming, Paul Hambly takes a look at how herbal remedies can help tackle the excess of alcohol
There are some simple steps to take to protect yourself from the excesses of the festive binge and come out the other side feeling better. The answer lies in helping our livers to detoxify. Protecting the liver from alcohol damage using milk thistle is wise, but when taken with Dandelion root it can also help start the detoxifying process. The liver is the main factory that turns our food into energy and helps to get rid of waste products.

Milk thistle protects the liver from damage and dandelion root gently stimulates it to start the cleansing process. Combine this with 1-2 g of vitamin C, 1-2 litres of water per and plenty of organic fresh fruit and vegetables to do yourself a good turn. If you want a complete treatment, try a Detox kit which includes these capsules plus150g of vitamin C crystals and a packet of Spring clean tea (available from the address below).
