Simple exercises for busy mums!
Do you find that as a busy mum, the last thing you have time for is
visiting a gym or health club? If you are struggling to make time for
exercise but are feeling unfit here are some simple exercise tips that
you can fit into your day-to-day routine:
- When walking to school or the shops, try step up the pace and power
walk
- At the kitchen sink, do some standing buttock clenches
- When waiting at traffic lights in the car, do some simple pelvic floor
exercises or hold in your stomach - when tensing this works your transverse
abdominals
- Whilst waiting for the kettle to boil try some standing press-ups
against the wall
- When cooking in the kitchen, use baked bean tins to do some simple
bicep curls and shoulder raises
- Make housework into an exercise routine by hovering at a fast and
furious pace. Do the same when washing windows or the car.
- When walking around the supermarket power walk by driving through
your heels and clenching your buttock muscles
- Sitting in front of the TV do some front leg raises, turn your legs
out and do inner thigh raises or get onto the carpet and do sit-ups
or press-ups
Although none of these are formal exercises, they can all simply fit
into your busy schedule and quickly become a habit. Quite soon you will
start to feel the benefit.
