Do you have too much day left at the end of your energy?
Marcia Fletcher, a Kinseologist, explains how some simple changes to
our daily routine, can give you higher energy levels.
It is important to boost the liver which is vital in filtering and detoxifying
waste products from our bodies. If our livers are sluggish we can experience
undesirable symptoms such as hyperactivity, fatigue, depression, rashes
and hives, psoriasis, hormone imbalances, spotty skin, asthma, adverse
reactions to food additives, alcohol and caffeine intolerance.
These simple tips will help restore your energy levels.
1. Drink a glass of warm water containing a few drops of freshly
squeezed lemon on an empty stomach first thing on rising. Wait for 10
-15 minutes before eating breakfast.
2. Swap fizzy, sugary drinks for water - preferably filtered or bottled.
Try drinking more water at the first sign of a headache - often it will
clear before you have to resort to a painkiller.
3. Reduce or better still cut out coffee . If you find this difficult,
opt for 'washed' decaffeinated coffee - usually marked on the jar.
4. Good liver-friendly foods are - oranges, tangerines, members of
the cabbage family, beetroot, home made soups. For smokers, curries
containing turmeric which inhibit carcinogens will help. Reduce sugary
and refined carbohydrates, which elevate blood sugar levels and leave
you wanting more. Instead snack on seeds, nuts, pulses, water soluble
fibres such as guar gum, oat bran, pectin found in apples, psyllim husks/seeds,
aloe vera drinking gels
5. Limit the use of over the counter drugs including sleeping pills,
cold remedies, antihistamines, indigestion tablets and limit the amount
of grapefruits eaten. All these items interfere with the liver's detoxifying
process. Swap anti-perspirants for aluminium free deodorants.
6. Top up on good quality vitamins B complex, vitamin C, zinc, magnesium
and fish oils for fatty acids. Use the herb Milk Thistle which acts
as an antioxidant and protects the liver from free radical damage.
7. Massage deeply the area under your right breast - this stimulates
the liver meridian and in turn the organ. Exercise regularly to pep
up the circulation and increase blood flow through the liver.
